Sometimes, the simplest floral arrangements make a great impact, being attractive and seductive due to their naturalness. Romantic by definition, sunflowers will brighten up your living space, with the help of an extremely light and practical composition.

The drama given by the combination of the colors used (the black of the bowl and the golden yellow of the flowers) will complete the intimacy of your room, giving it a mysterious appearance.

All the materials necessary to create this floral composition for the living room table can be found in any specialized shop and florists.

You will need…

A black pot (made of black ceramic or painted black) – you can find this in any gardening department or store. If you find only plain, unpainted ceramic pots, opt for one that has the desired shape and spray paint it black. Preferably choose a container with the widest possible mouth and something more solid.

An «arm» of sunflowers, golden yellows and oranges.

Scissors, knife or pliers for cutting sunflower stems.

Saplings with berries (for example cranberry).

Beads in autumn colors: yellow, orange, red, burgundy, gold, green, brown, etc.

Glue, for fixing.

Steps to follow

1. Cover the work surface with plastic wrap or an old cloth.

2. Place materials and tools as close together as possible.

3. Cut the stems of several plants, just below the flower.

4. For the rest of the flowers, cut the stems so that they have different lengths, for a spectacular effect of the composition.

5. Add water to the bowl and place the flowers as loosely and naturally as possible.

6. Secure the stemless flowers with glue.

Glue the flowers to the mouth of the bowl and to the outside, to its base, so as to create a continuous line of natural flowers that «hug» the base of the bowl.

7. Between the sunflower threads insert some sprigs with the berries, at equal distances, for symmetry.

8. At the base of the bowl, scatter (as artistically as possible) beads in your favorite colors.

• Place the decorated bowl in the center of the living room table, on a piece of fabric, stretched or artistically folded.

• Complete the look of the room with the help of shutters, to highlight the entire floral arrangement even more.

• Instead of the black ceramic bowl, you can use one made of glass or hard, heavy plastic of the same colour.

• If you don’t know where to buy sunflowers, you can equally successfully use yellow and orange chrysanthemums or other colorful seasonal flowers.
