Bayer Romania, in collaboration with the MaiMultVerde Association, completed the project «Walk the talk – Everyday sustainability, from global goals to personal behaviors» – a campaign to raise awareness of environmental issues and the personal impact on it.
The company’s employees from Romania and the Republic of Moldova were involved in this project, participating in a series of documentary-based debates on social and environmental issues. As a result of the partnership, Bayer is giving away 1,000 trees for future generations, planted with the help of MaiMultVerde volunteers.

“
The impact of human society on the environment has reached a critical point; the sum of all the factors (especially of anthropic origin) that contribute to the reduction of biodiversity must be weighed/counterbalanced by immediate active, concrete and effective measures to conserve biodiversity and the Earth’s resources; sustainably supporting the needs of the ever-growing human society. In this direction, society’s education and awareness of the impact that we human beings have on the environment are essential. The sessions I attended touched on these two aspects; the information once absorbed, makes you think. It is impossible for anyone, once they have seen this information, to remain passive. It makes you wonder: «What can I do so that all these beauties around remain for future generations, at least at the same level in which we also «received» them?!«, said Sorin Daraban, head of marketing operations of the company, after participating in this campaign.
Bayer’s contribution, in addition to financial support, is part of the Corporate Social Engagement strategy
The MaiMultVerde Association received financial support of 24,650 Lei from the company to create the «Walk the talk – Daily sustainability, from global objectives to personal behaviors» campaign.
«
Our mission is to increase the level of responsibility towards the environment, involving communities, companies and public institutions in nature protection activities. Awareness of the individual or organizational impact is the first step in this process, it is the point from which change begins. In the years to come we will all have to repay what we have borrowed from the planet over the last century. It’s up to us to decide whether we will solve the problem by abandoning the practices that brought us here, or let Earth settle the score«, said Doru Mitrana, President of the MaiMultVerde Association.
Bayer chose to engage in this project following the sustainability report published at Bayer group level, which sets clear objectives for the coming years, which implies, among other things, a good knowledge of social and environmental issues on the part of employees.
