In the practice of Feng Shui some plants are considered more beneficial than others. Succulent plants, those with thick, water-filled leaves, respectively, are believed to be the most attractive.

The leaves must be rounded and fleshy, of an intense dark green. These plants symbolize money and gold.

Jade plant

The best example of a plant with excellent Feng Shui is one called the «jade plant» (Crassula ovata).

Many Chinese homes and restaurants have a pot with a similar plant near the front door.

It is believed to attract abundance and prosperity within.

It is recommended to keep the jade plant in a large decorative container, placed near the entrance of the house, both outside and inside the house.

The plant can be about 15 cm tall or it can grow quite large, but not exceed one meter in height. Don’t water it too much.

If, due to overwatering, it turns yellow and shows no signs of survival, replace it with a new jade plant. Do not let the plant die due to root or leaf rot.

Silver crown

silver crown (Wavy cotyledon) is another lucky plant, full of juicy leaves, which can be placed both inside the house and outside, bringing a lucky chi into the house or garden.

It has beautiful fan-shaped leaves with a beautiful silver sheen.

Like the jade plant it belongs to the succulent cactus category and grows with very little water, so it is important not to water it too much.

The money plant

Much loved by the Chinese in Singapore and Malaysia, the flowing philodendron, nicknamed by them the «money plant», is a robust hanging plant, which develops optimally in areas of the garden where there is a lot of water, but can also be used as an indoor plant. There are many varieties of philodendron and all of them are lucky.

Its botanical name is Climbing Philodendron.

It is a plant that loves shade and cannot be exposed to strong sun, so the ideal places are the semi-dark parts of the green space.

It has heart-shaped leaves, with a very elaborate outline, of a non-uniform color, in various shades of green. The leaves must be small; if they become too large it means that the flowing philodendron has turned into a parasitic plant.

According to the teachings of Feng Shui, the oversized form of the “money plant” is no longer beneficial, because it feeds on the sap of the tree, thus becoming hostile.

Don’t let it become a pest, because your Feng Shui will suffer.
